Yotsugi Seimenjo
A moment to unwind in the city.
Located in Higashi-Tateishi, Katsushika Ward, Yotsugi Seimenjo serves springy homemade udon, varied set meals, and downtown-style drinking snacks, from signature kasu udon to late-afternoon kasu ramen.
01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
A pairing of chewy, firm homemade noodles and clean, clear dashi broth forms the foundation at Yotsugi Seimenjo. By day, visitors gather for hearty udon set meals; as evening approaches, the shop shifts into a welcoming neighborhood noodle pub where diners linger over drinks and small plates.
For a first visit, the kasu udon draws on the culinary traditions of Osaka's Minamikawachi district. Crisp, deep-fried beef offal known as aburakasu releases its savory richness into the hot soup, yielding deeper umami with every bite. Ordering the D Set adds "Nyan-tama gohan"—a bowl of rice meant to be drizzled with the dashi broth before breaking a fresh raw egg over the top, letting the mellow egg and savory stock meld completely.
When looking to appreciate the noodle's springiness and smooth texture directly, chilled bukkake or zaru preparations are ideal. The Special Bukkake Udon comes generously topped with prawn tempura, soft-poached onsen egg, and more, contrasting the thick, chewy strands against cold dashi broth. Guests can also customize their bowls with freshly fried toppings such as toriten chicken tempura or mixed vegetable kakiage.
The kitchen's breadth extends beyond traditional udon. Available on weekday evenings and weekend afternoons, kasu ramen infuses thin noodles with the savory punch of fried beef offal, serving as a quiet favorite. Guests can graze on à la carte snacks alongside a chilled bottle of Sapporo Akaboshi, Kinmiya shochu highballs, or sake sourced from a local merchant, before finishing with noodles. With counter seating, mobile ordering, and cashless payment in place, it accommodates solo diners and relaxed gatherings with ease.
